It was a carnival-like atmosphere yesterday in Irepo Local Government as Saliu Sarafadeen Ayinde (popularly known as SASAY), an Oyo State House of Assembly hopeful, led hundreds of APC members and other opposition bigwigs into the fold of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
SASAY, who is seeking to represent the Irepo/Olorunsogo State Constituency in 2027, is a well-known and influential figure across both local governments. Renowned for his grassroots appeal, especially among the youth, SASAY has continued to mobilize and inspire political participation across the region.
Party sources described him as a major asset to the PDP in Irepo, noting his relentless efforts in galvanizing young people to take active interest in politics. A successful commodity trader and presently leader of the House Irepo local government , SASAY has been deploying his personal resources towards strengthening and expanding the party’s reach in Irepo and Olorunsogo.
His growing influence was on full display yesterday, as he led hundreds of defectors from various opposition parties to join the PDP during the party’s general meeting.
