…Says His Death Is Shocking, a Great Loss to Oyo Muslim Community
The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Abdulraheem Adebayo Lawal, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Deputy Chief Imam of the Government House Mosque, Alhaji Nurudeen Azeez, describing his death as shocking and a monumental loss to the Muslim community in the state.
In a condolence message issued on Tuesday, Lawal said the late cleric was a humble, God-fearing scholar who served the Muslim ummah with sincerity, dedication, and unwavering commitment.
He noted that Alhaji Azeez’s contributions to Islamic affairs within the Government House and the entire state would be remembered for years to come, adding that his demise had created a vacuum that would be difficult to fill.
“The news of the passing of Alhaji Nurudeen Azeez came to me as a rude shock. His death is not only painful but also a great loss to the Muslim community in Oyo State,” the Deputy Governor said.
“He was a devout servant of Allah, a respected cleric, and a man of peace whose spiritual guidance and moral teachings touched many lives.
His service at the Government House Mosque was marked by humility, knowledge, and piety.”
While praying for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness upon the deceased, Lawal extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Imam, the Muslim community, and all faithful in the state.
He prayed that Allah grants the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and admits the departed soul into Al-Jannah Firdaus.
