The GSMists, a notable socio-political movement in Oyo State, have offered their sincere condolences to Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju (Ibarapakan), the representative for Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, following the passing of his father, Pa (Dr.) Amos Ademola Adepoju.
Pa Adepoju, who died on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the age of 89, was a respected academic, administrator, and community leader. His work in education, governance, and community development had a lasting impact on Oyo State and Nigeria.
In a statement released on Saturday by state coordinator Prince Tella Oluyinka and publicity relations officer Moyosoreoluwa Olamilekan Eldreez, the GSMists remembered the late patriarch as “a father to many, a pillar of wisdom, and a torchbearer of selfless service.”
“Pa (Dr.) Amos Adepoju was not only a renowned academic and administrator but also a true Asiwaju of Igboora Land, whose commitment to community development will continue to inspire generations. His passing is a great loss, not only to the Adepoju family but to Ibarapa Land, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole,” the statement read.
The group concluded by praying for the soul of the departed and asking God to grant Hon. Adebayo Adepoju and his family the strength to bear this significant loss.
