The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal, has expressed profound gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde and other dignitaries for their immense support and presence at the 40th-day prayer service for his late mother-in-law, Mama Hanifat Adetoun Ashimi. The solemn event was held at Oru-Ijebu, Ogun State.
In a statement, Barrister Lawal expressed his appreciation to Governor Makinde, for his support since the passing of mama Ashimi. “I am deeply touched by the support of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde. His encouragement has been a source of great comfort to me and my family during this difficult time,” Lawal said. “This is proof of his exemplary leadership and genuine care for those who work with him.”
The Deputy Governor also thanked members of the Oyo State Executive Council, heads of government parastatals, local government Chairmen and legislators. Also mentioned for appreciation

Clerics, Permanent secretaries, and all other well-wishers who traveled to Oru-Ijebu to mourn with his family. He noted that their collective show of support and solidarity was a clear indication of the unity and strong bond within the state’s administration.
Barrister Lawal described his late mother-in-law as a devout Muslim, a loving mother, and a community pillar who will be greatly missed. He prayed for the repose of her soul and for God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The 40th-day prayer, a significant rite in Islamic tradition, was attended by a host of dignitaries from Oyo and Ogun States, as well as family members, friends, and associates, all of whom came together to honor the memory of the deceased and offer prayers for her peaceful rest.
