Oyo state Deputy Governor, Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, has congratulated his boss, Governor Seyi Makinde, and his wife, Chief Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, Yeye Aare Omoluabi of Akure Kingdom, on receiving a traditional title from His Royal Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, the Deji of Akure Kingdom, as Aare Omoluabi and Yeye Omoluabi of Akure Kingdom.
In his congratulatory message on Friday, the Deputy Governor described the recognition as a well-deserved honour reflecting the governor’s exemplary leadership, humility, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.
He noted that the traditional honor is a testament to his connection with traditional institutions in the Southwest and appreciation from the people at the grassroots.
The Deputy Governor praised the Governor’s unblemished character and numerous accomplishments, stressing that the title of Aare Omoluabi, aptly reflects His Excellency’s integrity, developmental strides, and people-centered governance.
He added that the title embodies values such as respect, hard work, humility, and community responsibility, which are hallmarks of an “ideal person” in Yoruba culture.
While maintaining that the Governor has displayed a cosmopolitan outlook which is unprecedented in the history of the pacesetter state, Barr. Lawal stated that the chieftaincy title was not only a personal honour to the governor but also a moment of pride for the people of Oyo State and indeed the entire Yoruba race.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Governor Seyi Makinde and the First Lady, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, on their conferment of the prestigious chieftaincy title of Aare Omoluabi and Yeye Aare Omoluani of Akure Kingdom. Governor Makinde has consistently shown himself to be a man of the people, and his landmark performance as Governor of Oyo State is truly applaudable. His accelerated roadmap for Oyo State’s development is commendable, and it’s no surprise that Akure Kingdom has recognized his worth.
