ADAMAWA CHIEFDOMS: WHO IS SCARED OF THE RIGHT TO SELF DETERMINATION – George Kushi

These days, it has become the Vogue to try at all cost to be relevant. The bad thing however is that some are trying to do that at all cost. It is therefore not surprising that some self acclaimed local champions have arrogated themselves statuses of spokespersons against the creation of more chiefdoms by Governor Fintiri in Adamawa State.

In different tirades reminiscent of politically frustrated people, they are trying to point a jaundiced picture of the Governor and the State House of Assembly. Their grouse against the government rest on the fact that Governor Fintiri is the only one who has picked up the gauntlet and has boldly tackled a headlong plunge of the state towards a dangerous precipice. In their tirade, they are trying to lambast the Governor and the majority people of the state for charting a course geared towards total emancipation.

In the first instance, their negative write-ups, and utterances as pertains the sensitive issue of chiefdoms of nationalities that constitute Adamawa State has shown how retrogressive they are. To have uttered that they will reverse these creation in an event where they clinch power clearly shows how myopic they are. Whether these “enemies of progress ” Like it or not, these ethnic nationaties they have the guts to deride have embraced the Governor’s decision because it is what they well sought for. Thier ethnic conflagration in colour has been confirmed by their utterances and careless statements or write ups that will for long be remembered for generations to come.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has struggled in the last over five years to ensure that the multi ethnic people that cohabits the state unite as one. But, alas our enemies have proved that their restlessness against the creation of chiefdoms is hinged on morbid hatred they harbour against the right to settle determination of the people and government’s quest to check ungoverned space that is already constituting security problems.
It is a lucky thing that all these negativism from a handful is coming to light this early. They are spewing what many would have missed. Surely they will go down history lane as mischief makers.

In time to come these “enemies of progress” will have to explain why they are against our collective desire for progress. This is because it appears they are mistaken in the purposeful governance in Adamawa.
Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s government is an all encompassing government that does not segregate. It is an all inclusive government that shelters all irrespective of tribe, religion or creed. It is a government that seeks to keep all and sundry in one fold, an act that has endeared him to the people. For this, the people of Adamawa are happy with this development.
The people of Adamawa are elated with the way things are and will not be distracted by visibly frustrated pretenders who are hellbent on encouraging subjugation.

I hear some are threatening to go to court, well it it their right to do so. But they should remember that the vast majority view their antics as criminal schemings that will never impress anyone. From all indications, they have been flustered and are desperate to hold on to imaginary narratives, they have employed the art of prevarications, distortion of facts as measures to seek support. In any event, all these wrong strategies will not work.
People against the creation of more chiefdoms in Adamawa state can only create a little diversion and corrupt a few gullible people.
However, when they write their articles full of mischief, it demands scrutiny not because of any merit but because it contains false statements coupled with irrational thoughts that needs explanations.

The vast majority of Adamawa people know that some of these sponsored right ups leave much to be expected. From all indications, the composers have a defined motive to create disaffection among the people.
Unfortunately for them the man they are fighting has the support of nearly all nationalities. Neither tribe, religion or creed can sabotage Fintiri’s continued service to the people.

In all these, Truth is Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is not distracted at all. The people whom he governs and who are seeing this as pragmatism on ground know better.

Kushi writes in from the New Jimeta super high way.
