The Oke-Ogun COMRADES led by the Acting Chairman,Comr Adegbola Adebayo M, has appreciated Oyo State Governor H.E Seyi Makinde for inaugurating 480 Amotekun Forest Rangers to ensure residents’ security.
The chairman made the commendation on several social media platforms after a new sub-unit of Oyo State Amotekun, called Forest Rangers, passed out at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Iseyin, Oyo State.
We can recall that Governor Seyi Makinde explained that plans are underway to establish airstrips in Igbeti and Otu towns area in Oke-ogun respectively, noting that the state government will also provide aircraft security gadgets to support and enhance security surveillance activities in the state. This shows that His Excellency is a listener as governor who took quick action at the appropriate time.
We recognised that there was more to be done to address kidnapping, banditry and other illegal activities in our forests especially in Oke-ogun and this is what led us to commended him for the establishment of Forest Rangers as a sub-unit of Amotekun in 25 local government areas, with about 480 recruits out of the 561 passing out today.
