With the appeal court ruling affirming Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’ s victory at the 2023 polls, the issue should be laid to rest. As I earlier mentioned, the appeal was doomed from the onset. Today as things stand, all indices are that those goading Aishatu Dahiru Binani to go to the Supreme Court know that the act is akin to chasing the wind. Common sense should dictate to her that they are only interested in what they stand to gain from this futile effort.
Binani had a chance to save her face before going to the tribunal to contest against Fintiri’ s victory, a chance she wasted due tto bad advice or is it an over vaulting ambition?. Her misadventure to the Court of Appeal only worsened her bad case. If she needs the advice of the fair weather friends that encircle her, then her political future will be totally irredeemable. Her reputation, at least what little of it that she had has been corroded that in the near future if she joins the chief complainant of Adamawa state, Dr. Umar Ardo in the Supreme Court, she will come out tarred and feathered along with him.
The court has ruled, whatever reasons might have occasioned the decision of the tribunal and later the appellate court can’t be far away from the fact the wish of the people had to be upheld. The hues and cries that fifth columnist within the APC are responsible makes no sense or the worst means that the Adamawa APC is a rudderless ship veering towards a precipice.
Truth be told, the lame excuses that it takes the influence of certain forces to reach that decision is without merit and only serves to massage bruised egos.
The glaring victory of Fintiri over the wujja wujja campaigners speaks volumes. The victory was further confirmed by the supplementary election and cemented a victory that they planned to hijack through rigging;an attempt that failed woefully.
In boxing, three knock downs in one round can be termed a knockout.
Why can’t Binani stop listening to bad advice and accept defeat .?Why can’t those vultures hovering over her let her keep her peace? We all know why. Her actions amount to naught. The government has fared well taking all aspects of governance to the fullest unperturbed. For Binani to continue with this fruitless venture amounts to chasing the wind; a quixotic and useless enterprise.
I make bold to say that YOU CANNOT LEGITIMIZE ILLEGITIMACY
