Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has assured Oyo North Senatorial Zone and Oyo state at large of an all inclusive preparation and implementation of the 2020 state budget.

Governor Seyi Makinde gave this assurance today in his keynote address at the Stakeholders’ Consultative Meeting on Year 2020 Budget, held at Saki Parapo City Hall, Saki.

Speaking through his Deputy Governor, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, the Governor noted that the meeting is part of efforts to promote state wide consultation, as well as to ensure people’s need in the forthcoming 2020 budget, saying that community, local governments needs are peculiar.

Governor Makinde stated that the meeting was in line with his campaign promises to ensure dividend of democracy to all and sundry stressing that this can only be achieved through an all inclusive governance.

According to him, “when we came on board, we promised to transform Oyo state from poverty to prosperity. It became expedient to restructure our processes and establish a sound base for our development aspiration”.

He reiterated that his administration is based on four cardinal points such as making the state the fastest growing economy in Nigeria, improved quality education, provision of accessible and affordable health care services and security of lives and property.

He however pledged a transparent and accountable system of government stressing that, all hands must be on deck to achieve this.

Responding to their various request, Engr. Makinde promised to include pressing needs in the 2020 budget.

Earlier In his welcome address, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Barr. Adeniyi Farinto noted that the meeting was not for any political motive but to ensure each of the senatorial zones’ needs are included in the forthcoming 2020 budget. He stated that gone are the days when government will decide for the populace. He stressed that this is the first time government will involve citizens need to be reflected in budget.

The Commissioner assured them that all their needs will be added in 2020 budget adding that this will help government in knowing paramount project to be embarked upon in each of the zones.

He therefore enjoyed residents of Oke Ogun and the state at large to continue praying for the present administration.

Dignitaries are the venue includes the Commissioner for Agricultural and Rural Development, Hon. Ojemuyiwa Ojekunle, the Commissioner for Trade, Industries and Cooperative, Hon. Adeniyi Adebisi, Special Adviser on Econobudget, the Governor, Dr. Musibau Babatunde and Traditional Leaders in the Oyo North senatorial Zone of the state.
