Sunrisebulletin.com can exclusively report that some well known supporters of Fomer governor of Oyo state Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the Africa Democratic Congress ADC, may not be joining the Ibadan high chief in his new political sojourn.
Amongst these notable politicians who may have decided not to defect with Ladoja are former house of representatives member Hon. Busari Olayemi, Chief Bisi Ilaka, Oyo central Senatorial hopful, Bayo Lawal and Bola Akinyemi.
According to our source who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity because he doesn’t want his identity revealed said some of these known supporters of Ladoja chose to stay back in PDP so as to realize their various political aspirations, while others elected to stay with the PDP because of political differences they have with the one time national leader of Accord.
Speaking further, the source said Chief Bisi Ilaka for instance who is seeking to be the senator representing Oyo central Senatorial district will be doing great disservice to his ambition if he chose to defect to the ADC, it is a well known fact that Senator Monsuratu Sumonu, the incumbent senator representing Oyo central Senatorial zone, whom chief Ilaka narrowly lost to in the 2015 elections, is one of the leaders of the ADC, and barring any cataclysmic occurence she would most likely be given the ADC ticket again. Hence chief Bisi Ilaka’s decision not to join the ADC, aside that our source also informed us that Bisi Ilaka who at a time was a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Board NDIC, is also reported to be very close to Engr. Seyi Makinde the PDP gubernatorial aspirants, and may want to stay back to give support to the aspiration of his friend to govern the state, though he has been getting overtures from the ruling All Progressive Congress in the state to contest the Oyo central Senatorial race on its platform. Sunrisebulletin.com is unable to confirm if the Ladilu of Oyo empire is considering the offer.
Another source who spoke to Sunrisebulletin.com noted that Hon. Busari Olayemi’s decision is strictly due to political differences, as to which of the governorship aspirants should emerged as the PDP candidate in the 2019 elections, while Hon. Olayemi who was also a former state house of assembly member in Oyo state, and a long time ally of Senator Ladoja, prefers Seyi Makinde, our sources revealed that Senator Ladoja is not well disposed to his preference, consequently Olayemi decided to part ways with Senator Ladoja, the same reason is adduced for Bayo Lawal a two term commissioner of information in Oyo State who until recently was also a Major player in Senator Ladoja ‘s camp.
Bola Akinyemi who likewise is a notable supporter of Senator Ladoja will also not be joining the former governor in ADC, Sources told us that the former administrative Secretary of Accord has strong ties with Chief Bisi Ilaka, and as such he will most likely go along the same political route with him. Akinyemi however confirmed to Sunrisebulletin.com, when responding to a message sent to him, he responded by saying ” Am in PDP, Stop sending me stories about ADC”
Efforts made by Sunrisebulletin.com to confirm what our sources told us with regards to Bisi Ilaka were not successful as messages sent to his phone didn’t get any response.
