African Democratic Congress, ADC, yesterday, dismissed insinuation of a faction within its fold, Sunrisebulletin.com can report. This came on a day the party launched an initiative, Coalition for Electoral Integrity (C4e-Integrity), to challenge the scourge in the nation’s electoral practice, which works against engendering a sustainable, sterling democratic culture and good governance support infrastructure.
The party in a statement by its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Mrs. Yemi Kolapo, said: “The attention of African Democratic Congress has been drawn to a claim by some unknown group to have broken out of the ADC to form what they call the New ADC. “The party wishes to point out that these elements are hired agents acting out a script from their paymasters for reasons best known to them.
‘’We are determined to lead Nigeria out of the socio-economic mess occasioned by the lack of direction on the part of the ruling government, and we can’t be distracted. How can you break away from a party you don’t belong to? Meanwhile, the party has launched an initiative to challenge the scourge in nation’s electoral practice which is militating against engendering a sustainable, sterling democratic culture and good governance support infrastructure.
At the launch of the initiative in Lagos, Tuesday, National Chairman of ADC, Ralphs Nwosu, said the move became necessary as the 2019 general elections drew nearer and the tempo of political activities, maneuvering and scheming were on the increase.
